OPERATOR DUE DILIGENCE

A licence check starts with the exact domain

Match the website, legal entity, activity and territory. A footer badge is only the first clue.

THE POINT TO TAKE AWAY

A valid check connects the exact domain, entity, activity and jurisdiction. Record the result narrowly; do not turn it into “safe everywhere.”

Look for a domain match where the register provides one

In this research edition, the MGA record for LeoVegas Gaming plc listed leovegas.com and royalpanda.com among the website URLs under its licence. That is a concrete domain-level match from a regulator source. [1]

The record also illustrates why corporate relationships belong in a comparison. Different branding does not automatically mean an unrelated licence. Conversely, a common record does not prove identical bonus rules, customer service or account arrangements.

Do not copy a regulator badge image and treat the job as done. The useful evidence is the current record, with its entity, domain list, activity and status, plus the date you checked it.

A licensee match is not always a domain match

The UK Gambling Commission pages examined for 888 UK Limited and Betway Limited showed active remote casino activity for those named licensees. Those findings are narrower than a claim to have checked every worldwide domain and regional product. [2] [3]

Read the type of activity. A permission concerning one product should not be assumed to cover another. Read the status as well as the number, and distinguish a current entry from an old notice, a historic fine or a cancelled arrangement.

This guide does not convert a record in one jurisdiction into permission in the reader’s home country. Local rules and the correct entity still matter. Where the match is uncertain, report the uncertainty rather than inventing an approval.

Keep four items together

The minimum useful record contains the exact website, legal entity, relevant licensed activity and territorial scope. Preserve the regulator source and check date alongside them. The fields are a connected claim, not four badges that can be borrowed from different pages.

For example, a real casino licence belonging to an unrelated company does not resolve a missing entity match. A legitimate entity name does not establish that every lookalike domain belongs to it. A current record does not prove that the same status applied during a previous dispute.

No register lookup can guarantee a withdrawal outcome or make gambling risk-free. The check addresses identity and permission within the record’s scope; it is not a universal quality score.

What to do when the evidence stops

If an operator assertion cannot be matched independently, label it as an assertion. If a page cannot be read, distinguish access failure from a finding that the site is unlicensed. Neither conclusion should be silently upgraded or downgraded.

The publication uses separate labels for regulator matches, reviewed terms, regional evidence and limited public evidence. These are descriptions of research coverage, not tiers of safety or instructions to gamble.

Before relying on an old review, revisit the current record. Dates are part of the evidence. This edition’s checks are dated 18 September 2026 and are not automatically refreshed merely because the website is rebuilt.
